Op-Ed: Lack of Education Options Promotes Inequality
Does a lack of education freedom promote inequality? In his latest opinion piece for the Charleston Gazette-Mail, Cardinal’s executive director, Garrett Ballengee, argues that a lack of education freedom is fundamentally unfair and promotes inequality. A snippet below (rest of the piece here):
“Four-and-a-half miles.
By car, a distance that can easily be covered in under 10 minutes. Yet, in many respects, those same 4 1/2 miles represent something else, something worlds apart. Four-and-half miles represent the difference between bright futures filled with opportunities and cloudy futures filled with struggle, frustration and unrealized potential.”
